Media personality Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia, has served Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), a formal pre-action notice for alleged defamatory statements made on social media.
The legal representatives of Nedu and Tokindrumz Picture and Media Ltd issued the comprehensive letter to VDM on Tuesday, February 24, 2025. The notice refers to a 12-minute video posted by VDM on February 19, 2025, containing defamatory and false statements against Nedu and Tokindrumz, published on both YouTube and Instagram.
The lawyers highlighted that the video, titled “How Nedu diverted NGO scholarship meant for Nigerians,” was filled with false accusations. They noted that VDM spelled ‘fraud’ as ‘fr@vd’ in an attempt to evade legal consequences.
Additionally, the notice mentioned that relevant authorities had investigated the Metropolitan School of Business and Management UK (MSBM) case and found insufficient evidence to support VDM’s claims.
Despite this, VDM has continued posting videos repeating the same false accusations. He claimed that Nedu used popular musicians Timaya and Kcee Limpopo to perpetuate the alleged fraud.
The notice also addressed the Nedu Foundation charity organization, explaining that it was established to raise funds for students to gain admission into MSBM. Nedu was not compensated for his promotional efforts or event organization related to the charity, and he is not the owner of Tokindrumz but a talent under the brand.
The letter demanded that VDM retract all videos involving Nedu from all platforms within 24 hours, issue a public apology on all his platforms, and pay ₦500m for the damage caused to Nedu’s reputation. Failure to comply would result in legal action against VDM.
