Nigerian govt extends renewed hope Ramadan palliatives to Nasarawa

Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, has extended its Renewed Hope Ramadan Palliatives to the people of Nasarawa State to alleviate economic hardship.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is observed by Muslim faithful worldwide as a time for fasting, prayer, reflection, and community.

Jonathan Eze, Special Adviser to the Minister on Media, announced this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

More than 400 residents benefited from essential items, including bags of rice, solar-powered electronics, and cash support, aimed at providing direct economic relief to vulnerable Nigerians.

Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs, emphasised that the initiative was a testament to the government’s unwavering commitment to alleviating hardship.

“This initiative is part of Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises the well-being of the less privileged.

“We remain dedicated to complementing the Federal Government’s efforts in tackling poverty and supporting those in need,” she stated.

She also urged philanthropists, corporate organisations, and well-meaning individuals to collaborate in similar humanitarian efforts, stressing the importance of collective action in uplifting communities.

The minister assured that the distribution would continue in phases and encouraged recipients to utilise the palliatives wisely.

In his remarks, Shehu Chindo-Yamusa, Emir of Keffi, lauded the minister for her tireless commitment to humanitarian service, noting the positive impact of her efforts across Nasarawa State and Nigeria as a whole.

“This is a commendable intervention. We deeply appreciate the Minister’s dedication and urge others to emulate such acts of service to humanity,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has called on Muslims across Nigeria to begin searching for the new moon of Ramadan on Friday, February 28.
