A senator representing Kano South Senatorial District, Suleiman Kawu-Sumaila, has distributed 30 vans and 30 motorcycles to butchers and media influencers in his senatorial zone.
A statement by Mr Kawu-Sumaila’s spokesman, Abbas Abbas, said the event is the 17th empowerment program undertaken by the senator since assumption of office.
Speaking at the event, Mr Kawu-Sumaila highlighted the invaluable contributions of butchers to their political party, particularly during election celebrations, when they generously provided 16 cows as part of their support.
He praised the gesture as a reflection of their loyalty and dedication to the party’s success.
The senator also extended his gratitude to media influencers and other individuals who played pivotal roles during the campaign period. “Your efforts and support have not gone unnoticed. This empowerment initiative is a token of our appreciation for your dedication,” he said.
The program was divided into two categories and funded partly through the senator’s personal finances.
He called on constituents to remain patient and steadfast, promising that additional empowerment opportunities would soon follow.
“I am deeply committed to the progress and welfare of Kano South. This is just the beginning, and I assure you that more impactful initiatives are underway,” he concluded.
