Despite the immediate disruption, forecasts from Accuweather suggest that the extreme rainfall and flooding are not expected to persist through the night, with mild, sunny conditions and highs of 82°F predicted for Sunday.
However, residents and visitors were urged to exercise caution on Saturday night. Mayor Zohran Mamdani issued guidelines advising against traveling through floodwaters, seeking shelter indoors during severe rain and storms, and remaining vigilant due to strong winds that could carry loose objects or down trees and power lines.
Even with an expected improvement in weather conditions, the lingering effects of flooding could lead to heavier traffic and potential detours for those traveling to the stadium. Attendees are advised to allow for possible delays.
