Liverpool and Manchester United played a 2-2 draw in a thrilling Premier League encounter at Anfield on Sunday night.

United took a shock lead when Lisandro Martinez powered a finish high past Alisson after 52 minutes.

But the hosts fought back seven minutes later when Cody Gakpo scored with a superb angled drive.

Mohamed Salah then converted a penalty equalling Thierry Henry’s tally of 175 Premier League goals, with 20 minutes left.

The penalty had been awarded following a handball by Matthijs de Ligt.

But Amad Diallo scored another big goal for the Red Devils when he turned home Alejandro Garnacho’s cut-back 10 minutes from time to take home a point for his side.

Liverpool, aiming to go eight points clear with a win, have now settled for a point, and are six points clear at the top of the Premier League, while United are 13th.

Earlier in the day in another Premier League clash, Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi was in action for Fulham as they also played a 2-2 draw against Ipswich Town.
