Real Madrid are reportedly confident in their efforts to sign Manchester City midfielder Rodri. The Spanish club is said to be working on a deal for the Spain captain and believes an agreement can be reached. This development follows a shift in Real Madrid’s stance, as they were initially not considering the signing but were reportedly impressed by his performances during the World Cup.
According to one report, Real Madrid is operating on the basis that Rodri will be a player for them in the upcoming season. Manchester City is expected to negotiate a transfer with Real Madrid, particularly as the Premier League club has entered a period of rebuilding following Pep Guardiola’s departure.
Another report indicates that José Mourinho has specifically requested Rodri, emphasizing his desire for the midfielder to strengthen the team’s midfield. While Real Madrid is analyzing various factors, including the player’s age and physical condition, he is considered to be in a prime period of his career.
Other transfer market activities
Beyond Rodri, Real Madrid is also reportedly making progress on another priority deal: the signing of Michael Olise. The club is said to be working in parallel on this transfer target, with the French player remaining on their radar. Additionally, there are hints that the sporting management is keeping open an operation for a high-profile signing.
Across other clubs, Arsenal is exploring a player-plus-cash deal for Atletico Madrid and Argentina striker Julian Alvarez.
