Maresca discusses Rodri, Grealish, and Trafford futures at first news conference

Enzo Maresca, the new manager of Manchester City, held his first news conference, addressing various topics including player futures and the upcoming season. Maresca acknowledged the challenge of succeeding Pep Guardiola and paid tribute to former City manager Kevin Keegan, who recently passed away.
During the conference, Maresca provided an update on Rodri, stating that the player, who has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium, will undergo surgery next week. City Are Back Event Announced
In other club news, Manchester City has announced the “City Are Back” event, presented by Etihad Airways. This event offers supporters an opportunity to engage with the team before Maresca’s inaugural season as manager. Fans will have the chance to see new signings in action for the first time and hear directly from the new manager, new recruits, and some familiar faces.
The “City Are Back” event will also feature various entertainment options for younger fans throughout the afternoon. These include live entertainment, music, and a Kids Fanzone with football skills challenges. Exclusive prizes will be available, such as a full squad signed shirt, hospitality tickets for a home game during the upcoming campaign, a mascot place for the new season, and an opportunity to meet the players on the day.
Attendees will also have the chance to take photos with the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, the domestic double trophies from the previous season. Tickets for the event are priced at £5 for adults and £3 for Under 21s and Over 65s. Hospitality packages will also be offered. Each supporter can purchase up to two tickets, allowing them to bring a friend or family member.
Mobile tickets for the “City Are Back” event will be issued closer to the date. Tickets will first go on sale to Season Ticket Members for either of the First Teams, as well as all Cityzens Official Members, at 10:00 (UK) on Tuesday 28 July. Subject to availability, general sale tickets will be released at 10:00 (UK) on Wednesday 29 July.
The gates for the “City Are Back” event at the Joie Stadium will open at 13:30 (UK), with the event commencing at 14:00 (UK). For those unable to attend in person, the special event will be live-streamed across the club’s official channels. Premier League Tickets Now Available
General admission tickets for Manchester City’s home 2026/27 Premier League fixtures are currently on sale. These tickets are available to Premium, Matchday, and Junior Members. Season Ticket Members also have the option to purchase additional tickets for select games.
The Premier League match-by-match ticket prices for junior and adult Matchday Members have been maintained at the same rate for a third consecutive season. The club anticipates an exciting campaign under the guidance of Enzo Maresca, who has taken over from Pep Guardiola. Fans are encouraged to secure their spots at the Etihad Stadium for the upcoming Premier League fixtures.
Maresca also stated he had “nothing to add” regarding his departure from Chelsea, a move that reportedly left the London club feeling “let down.”
