Manchester United Renews Tchouameni Pursuit, Midfield Reinforcements Eyed

Manchester United has reportedly renewed its pursuit of Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. This development follows earlier attempts by United to secure the 26-year-old France international, who was previously linked with an extended contract at Real Madrid.
Real Madrid is now reportedly open to selling Tchouameni to Manchester United. United’s interest in a specialist defensive midfielder has been ongoing, particularly after Casemiro‘s move to Inter Miami. Tchouameni’s profile, described as a young player capable of anchoring the midfield and providing balance, aligns with United’s requirements.
Midfield Reinforcements and Other Targets
United has already been active in the transfer market, securing the signings of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans. Despite these additions, the club is still considering a third midfield signing. Alongside Tchouameni, other midfielders reportedly on United’s radar include Manu Kone, 25, from AS Roma and Brighton‘s 22-year-old Cameroon international Carlos Baleba. Tyler Adams, a 27-year-old United States midfielder from Bournemouth, is also an option.
United had previously made inquiries about the midfielder earlier in the summer transfer window.
In other transfer news, Manchester City has completed the signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. Additionally, Chelsea is reportedly accelerating its pursuit of Bournemouth‘s Alex Scott, a player also linked with United. Chelsea had a bid for Scott reportedly turned down by Bournemouth.
United is also reportedly assessing options to strengthen its wide positions, with an inquiry made for Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr. The Senegal international is considered to be on United’s shortlist, though not their top priority.
Defensive and Youth Prospects
In terms of defensive targets, United is looking for a new left-back to compete with Luke Shaw.
United is also focusing on youth prospects, reportedly negotiating compensation fees with Manchester City and Liverpool for academy players Isaac Konde, David Eze, and Karim Cassim. The plan is for these three players to join the club’s Under-18s squad.
The summer transfer window continues to be active as clubs prepare for the upcoming Premier League season, which is less than a month away.

Arsenal is targeting former Manchester City defender John Stones, 32, and 28-year-old Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa, following an injury to France defender William Saliba, 25. Chelsea has also agreed to a deal to sign 15-year-old American winger Benji Flowers from Major League Soccer side FC Dallas when he turns 18.
Arsenal and Manchester City are among the clubs interested in Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. Liverpool and England Under-20 defender Amara Nallo, 19, is set to join Finnish club HJK Helsinki on a season-long loan. Celtic and Japan striker Daizen Maeda, 28, will undergo a medical on Friday to complete his move to Ipswich Town.
Leeds United‘s English winger Jack Harrison, 29, is nearing a move to MLS side New England Revolution. Everton is reportedly interested in Celtic‘s Alistair Johnston, 27, who impressed for Canada at the World Cup. Aston Villa is interested in signing 25-year-old Everton and England midfielder James Garner this summer.
