Yan Diomande reportedly agrees terms with Paris Saint-Germain until 2031
Diomande’s Future and Club Interest
Yan Diomande, the young Ivorian winger, is reportedly a target for several major European clubs during the current summer transfer window. Despite interest from various teams, Leipzig has maintained its stance on retaining the player. However, reports suggest that Diomande has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain on a contract that would extend until 2031.
This agreement with Paris Saint-Germain comes amid continued approaches from other prominent clubs. Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Liverpool have all reportedly expressed their willingness to pay a significant fee for Diomande. Leipzig had previously declined an offer of 100 million euros from Liverpool while the player was participating in the 2026 World Cup. Diomande’s current contract with Leipzig runs until the summer of 2030 and does not include a release clause.
Despite the reported agreement with Paris Saint-Germain, the French club has not yet submitted an official offer to Leipzig. Sources indicate that Diomande’s representatives, working with the Roc Nation agency, are attempting to expedite negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain and Leipzig. This push is reportedly driven by concerns that another club might intervene in the transfer process.
Negotiations and Leipzig’s Stance
Negotiations between Paris Saint-Germain and Leipzig appear to be progressing, with Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Paris Saint-Germain’s president, reportedly taking personal control of discussions with Red Bull. Al-Khelaifi’s relationship with Red Bull’s hierarchy is believed to have facilitated these talks. An agreement is reportedly nearing completion, and Leipzig has internally acknowledged that Diomande is likely to move to Paris.
Leipzig is reportedly seeking no less than 120 million euros for Diomande. While the German club recognizes the player’s technical and marketing value, there is also an understanding that retaining a player who desires to leave could negatively impact team morale. This situation has been compared to a previous instance involving Xavi Simons.
Earlier this month, Leipzig considered selling Diomande and then keeping him on loan for an additional season. However, Paris Saint-Germain’s head coach, Luis Enrique, has reportedly expressed a desire for Diomande to join the squad immediately, rather than delaying his arrival. Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly prepared to offer around €110 million to finalize the deal.
Continued Premier League Interest
Despite Diomande’s reported commitment to Paris Saint-Germain, Premier League clubs continue to pursue him. Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City have all made fresh contact with Diomande’s representatives. However, each club has reportedly received the same message: Diomande remains focused on a move to the Parc des Princes.
Liverpool, in particular, has maintained regular communication with Diomande’s camp, hoping that circumstances might change. Arsenal renewed their interest after their attempt to sign Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers was unsuccessful. Manchester City has also reaffirmed its interest, as the club is reportedly in the market for a wide attacker, especially with Savinho expected to move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Sources also indicate that Leipzig is not using the continued Premier League interest to inflate Diomande’s asking price, with negotiations proceeding independently. Additionally, both Paris Saint-Germain and Leipzig are aware of complications related to Diomande’s recent change of representation, specifically concerning image rights. Discussions are ongoing to resolve these issues, with all parties confident they will not impede the transfer.
As negotiations enter their final stages, the expectation is that Diomande will be playing under Luis Enrique in the upcoming season, despite the persistent efforts from Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City to alter his decision.
