April 06, (THEWILL) – Atalanta suffered their third consecutive Serie A defeat without scoring on Sunday when Lazio claimed a 1-0 victory at the Gewiss Stadium.

Gustav Isaksen netted the decisive goal, continuing Atalanta’s worst scoring drought since 2014.

The first half provided little entertainment for supporters, ending with no shots on target.

The match shifted shortly after the interval when Mateo Retegui tested Christos Mandas with Atalanta’s first attempt on goal.

Lazio broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute when Mandas sent a long ball forward that Atalanta failed to clear properly.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru headed the ball into the path of Isaksen, who slid in to finish past Marco Carnesecchi, giving the visitors the advantage they would maintain until the final whistle.

The defeat leaves Gian Piero Gasperini’s team in third place, now trailing league leaders Inter by 10 points with only seven matches remaining in their campaign.

This scoring drought represents their worst run since Stefano Colantuono managed the club over a decade ago.
